ZEBRAFISH TOXICOLOGY MODEL

The zebrafish toxicology models are assessed based on time interval upon administration of the test drug as acute and chronic to accurately measure the effects of drug in zebrafish. These toxicology studies includes assessment of structural abnormality, altered growth and functional deficits.

WHAT WE DO?

The test compound is administered to zebrafish through various routes namely oral ( this is the most commonly used route of administration ) intraperitoneal injection, intravenous, intramuscular and intrathecal (administration within cerebrospinal fluid). The zebrafish toxicology models are assessed based on time interval upon administration of the test drug as acute, chronic and embryo toxicity at 96 hours across 5 doses. Acute toxicity- involves assessments of heart, liver, pancreas, kidney, brain, body weight and swimming pattern between 4 – 15 days. Chronic toxicity- involves assesments of heart, liver, pancreas, kidney, brain, body weight and swimming pattern for a period of 30 days.

OUR PROCESS

The zebrafish toxicology models are assessed based on time interval upon administration of the test drug as acute and chronic to accurately measure the effects of drug in zebrafish. These toxicology studies includes assessment of structural abnormality, altered growth and functional deficits.

Overall toxicology assessment: Includes body weight, organ weight, blood profile, skin profile, necropsy, pathology, anatomy, necropsy, molecular profile, ECG, survival curve, cardiotoxicity, hepatotoxicity, nephrotoxicity, neurotoxicity and dermal toxicity.

Reproductive toxicity: Includes assessment of fertility, reproduction, prenatal development and postnatal development.

STUDY MODELS
